Mr. Vernon Eugene "Nean" Evans, 71, of Southampton County, born to the late Roosevelt and Maude Evans, peacefully transitioned from this life on May 16, 2025 surrounded by family. Nean was predeceased in death by his brother Johnny Evans. Vernon leaves his dear friend Phyllis Faulk, son Shazzon Falkins, and a host of family to cherish his memories.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Bryant Baptist Church, 23375 Bryants Church Rd in Courtland, Virginia 23837. The family has entrusted Vaughan-Temple Funeral Home to carrying out his service.
