With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Mrs. Ruby Tillery, 59, affectionately known as Ruby, or to some, Red or Ruby Lee of Courtland, VA. Born on July 19, 1963, in Southampton County, Virginia, Ruby was a beacon of love and service, living her life as an inspiring testament to her faith. She spent her early years in Franklin, Virginia, before making her home in Courtland. Ruby was a compassionate soul, leading a spirited life defined by her devotion to God and service to others. Her life verse was Matthew 25:40: "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 415 Stonewall St. in Franklin, VA. The viewing will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel of Vaughan - Temple Funeral Home. The family has entrusted Vaughan - Temple Funeral Home to fulfill these services.
