Mrs. Phyllis Ann Chapman, 73, affectionately known as "Shakey," transitioned on October 3, 2025. She was born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of Suffolk, Virginia. Shakey was the daughter of the late Robert Ralph Kindred and Pauline Carr Kindred.

Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Lloyd Chapman Jr.; her loving children, Jimmy Kindred, Charlisa Scott, and Katrina Chapman;  ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five siblings; three aunts; one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel of Vaughan - Temple Funeral Home.
