It 's with heavy hearts, we announce the earthly transition of Ms. Martha Lee Councill "Peaches", 97, of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her husband Deacon Waverly R. Councill Sr., sons Rudolph, Kenneth, Waverly Jr. and daughter Ms. Thelma Copper. She leaves to cherish her legacy her devoted daughter Mrs. Mildred C. Claude along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and love ones.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel at the Vaughan - Temple Funeral Home, 1717 South Street in Franklin, VA.
