IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ellouise Lawyer
Johnson
May 1, 2024
It is with a twinkle in our eyes and a smile on our lips that we remember the life of our cherished Ellouise Lawyer Johnson, best known for her authenticity and her affectionate nickname, "Weezy". She departed Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Atlantis, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Novella and Abraham Lawyer, and siblings, Ruth Lawyer Allen, Andrew Buddy Lawyer, and Reynold Teensy Lawyer.
Ellouise, with her funny and courageous spirit, has left a hole in our hearts that can only be filled with the joy of her memory. True to her resilient nature, she lived life on her terms, never backing down from a challenge and always finding a reason to laugh.
Ellouise was a woman of many talents and interests. In her youth, she could be found playing cards, stepping up to the plate in a softball game, or dancing the night away at local dances. As she grew older, she found solace in the simple pleasures of life - spending time with her family, solving word search puzzles, and enjoying episodes of her beloved Law and Order television show.
Ellouise was a woman who was as spicy as she was sweet, a woman who, in her own words, "did not take any wooden nickels." As we look back on her life, let us remember her as she was - full of life, full of love, and full of laughter. She loved life and wanted to live a long life. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
We encourage all who knew and loved Ellouise to share their stories, memories, and please add photos on her memorial page. Let us remember her not with sadness, but with the joy and laughter she brought into our lives.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Elvin Vaughan Memorial Chapel, 1717 South St in Franklin, VA 23851.
