Mr. Cyrus Christopher Lawrence, 61, passed away on Sept. 2, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. Fred Lawrence and Mrs. Mildred Langston (Porter) Lawrence.

Cyrus was a tailback for Southampton High School in Courtland and Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He holds the title of the all-time leading rusher in both schools. After his brief NFL career, Cyrus decided to move back closer to home to Alexandria, VA. This is where he landed his career job as a marketing sales rep, in 1988. In 1993, Cyrus met the love of his life, Bebeth Lawrence.

Cyrus leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Marivic Fortin (Bebeth) Lawrence; three sons, Christian, Christopher and Luigi; one daughter-in-law Jen; two brothers, John Lawrence (Patricia) of Alexandra, Virginia and Bruce Lawrence of Edenton, North Carolina; two sisters Kathy Williams (Bobbie) of Cumming, Georgia and Edna Wilkins of Plymouth, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will take place on Friday, Sept. 16 from 10:00 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Vaughan - Temple Funeral Home, 1717 South St. Franklin, VA.

**A private viewing for the family will take place shortly after please respect their privacy. **

The service will still be held in the Apostolic Faith Church of God General Assembly, 608 Oak Street in Franklin on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. His interment will be at Southampton Memorial Park in Franklin. Vaughan-Temple Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
