IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn
Mitchell
September 22, 2023
Our beloved Minister Carolyn Mitchell, affectionately known as "Sister," was called home, to our Heavenly Father, at age 68, on September 22, 2023. Carolyn was born on January 26, 1955, to the late George T. Taylor and Rosa M. Brown. She grew up in Southampton County, Virginia, being the sixth child of eighteen siblings. Carolyn's life journey led her from Virginia to Connecticut in the 1980s. Then settling in Pennsylvania where she resided for over forty years. Carolyn spent her life embodying the virtues of dedication, resilience, courage, and inspiration that are so evident in the many lives she has touched.
Carolyn was a woman of God and a committed member of Faith Tabernacle House of Prayer located in Norristown, PA. She was an extraordinary woman with an unwavering faith. Her resilience was rooted in her Hebrew Pentecostal faith, and she served as an evangelist, sharing the word of God and touching countless lives. She was a pillar of her community and a beacon of hope for those in need. Her courage was reflected in her professional life as a Certified Nurses Aid for over 20 years, where she displayed an inspiring dedication to her patients.
In her personal life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She cherished every single moment with her family. Carolyn was a courageous woman who faced life's challenges with grace and faith, never letting her trials dampen her spirit or shake her faith. As Psalm 46:1-3 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
Carolyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as bowling, shopping, watching movies, fishing, holiday cooking, spoiling her grandkids, getting her nails done, dressing up, singing, preaching, and praising the Lord. She loved to reminisce and tell stories about her life, always with a focus on the Heavenly Father above, and her family.
Her legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience, and her memory will be cherished by those she leaves behind: Her four children: Linwood Brown, Tonya Brown, Barbara Mitchell, and Bobby Mitchell Jr.; goddaughter, Collette Cunningham, fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; siblings: Lena Taylor, George Taylor Jr., Carson Taylor, Dexter Taylor, Patricia Taylor, Milton Taylor, Noral Brown, Bessie Brown, Virginia Little, Audrey Mitchell, Eunice Reynolds, and George Brown.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Taylor Jr., and Rosa Brown Taylor. Carolyn joins her siblings, Robert Taylor, Leslie Taylor, Wayne Taylor, and Layne Taylor in Heaven. Carolyn Mitchell will be severely and tremendously missed by all the lives she has touched throughout her earthly journey.
In honor of Carolyn, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. Let us remember and celebrate her life filled with love, faith, and resilience.
