Obituary

Bryan Arthur Brandvold, affectionately known by his daughter as 'Daddio' or her 'number 1 guy', was born on October 25, 1958, in Minnesota City, MN. A dedicated and courageous individual, Bryan was the epitome of devotion and bravery in every aspect of his life. From his exceptional military service in the U.S. Navy to his compassionate care for his family and animals, Bryan's life was a testament to the virtues of love, courage, and dedication.

Bryan's illustrious career in the U.S. Navy saw him serve for 20 active years and 19 years as a nuclear radiation instructor. He served in the Gulf War and received various awards and ribbons, making him extremely proud of his military career. Bryan's bravery was not confined to his professional life. He was a loving husband to Donna Brandvold and a doting father to Shannon. His love extended to his brothers, sisters, and very special brother in arms, Donald Burlingame. He was also a step-brother to Brad Grimes and Greg Grimes.

A man of many interests, Bryan was a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan and had a deep passion for cooking, woodworking, and NASCAR. He was known for his homemade sausages and different types of jerky, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. Bryan was also a member of the American Legion in Norfolk, Virginia, reflecting his commitment to service and community. His faith was deeply rooted in the Lutheran tradition, and as Romans 8:38-39 says, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Bryan lived out this scripture in his actions and his relationships, showcasing his deep love for his family, friends, and faith.

Bryan is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Shannon, sister Sheri (William) Volkmar, brother Royce (Jean) Brandvold, stepbrother Brad (Jackie) Grimes, sister Jackie (Brad) Grimes, stepbrother Greg (Shellie) Grimes, and his very special brother in arms, Donald Burlingame. He is preceded in death by his father Peter Jr., mother Ethel Marlene, grandfather Peter Sr., grandmother Hannah Brandvold, and stepmother Lavoy Brandvold.

Bryan's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, dedication, and courage. He will be remembered for his compassionate nature, his bravery, and his unwavering devotion to his family and his country. We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos of Bryan on the memorial page, honoring his life and his legacy.
