Ms. Bertha M. Holland, 94, of Nansemond County Virginia, now Suffolk, VA born December 15, 1927 to the late Phillip Howell and Rebbie Wiggins Howell-Whitehead departed this life January 18, 2022. Bertha accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was baptized and became a life-member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Bertha shared her life with a handsome hometown gentlemen whom she wedded Clinton McCoy Holland.


Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Clinton, their youngest son Larry D. Holland, their only grandson Mya Holland and her sister Berma L Howell-White. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son Clinton Phillip Holland, granddaughters Adrienne Holland (Tampa, Florida) and Tiffany Shields (Beverly Hills, California), great-granddaughter, great grandsons, brother-in-law Deacon Linwood U. Holland (Suffolk, VA), cousin Lilliam W. Gaston (Suffolk, VA) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to cherish her memories.


The viewing is Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.; service is Friday, January 28, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Interment is at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 6100 Holy Neck Rd, Suffolk, VA.
